New Charitable Trusts Register is live

The Charitable Trusts Register moved to a new technology platform on Monday 23 March 2026. This upgrade is part of our commitment to enhancing your experience.

To update the register you need an online account

To register a new charitable trust board or update details on the register for an existing one, you need an online account. If you need to update an existing trust board, you will need to confirm your authority with us beforehand.

Existing customers

You do not need to do anything. Your existing RealMe login will work, and we have transferred your account details for you, along with all your existing authorities.

New customers

To set up your online account, you must have a RealMe® login (you do not need to have a RealMe verified identity). RealMe is designed to protect your privacy and is a service used by many New Zealand businesses and government departments. 

If you have a RealMe login that you have used elsewhere (for example, to renew your passport or to access other Companies Office services) you can use that here too.
