Updating names to include macrons
Updating names in the register to include macrons
In 2019 we made changes to our register system so that it's possible to record macrons in names. If your trust board was incorporated before then you can update details on the register to include macrons in:
- The trust board's name
- Trust board addresses — The street names for the registered office address and address for communication
Using macrons in your trust board's name
If you're changing your trust board's name you can include macrons in the new name for your trust board.
If the registered name of your trust board should have always included macrons, you can request that we change your name on the register and issue a new certificate of incorporation. You don't need to change your rules to add macrons. To send us your request, a member or trustee of the trust board or an authorised person needs to complete this application form and send it to us.
Addresses with street names that use macrons
When you are updating your trust board's registered office address or the address for communication, you can use macrons in the street name. But only if the street name is identified with macrons within NZ Post’s address finder service .
